Tea Cocktail Mixology Workshop Recipes

1. Flaming Bonfire Toffee

This delicious concoction uses our Bonfire Toffee and twisted into an Old Fashioned inspired cocktail. Using a flaming sugar cube soaked in a super strong rum set alight and dusted with cinnamon to cause a spark!

Flaming Bonfire Toffee Cocktail

What you will need:

  • Orange bitters
  • 100ml Bonfire Toffee concentrate
  • 25ml whisky
  • A sugar cube splashed in Wray and Nephews rum
  • A peeled orange skin
  • Stirrer stick
  • A shot of vanilla syrup
  • Ice

What to do:

  1. Pop your ice and a few drops of Orange bitters into a glass.
  2. Pour the 100ml concentrate into the glass already pre-filled with ice and Orange bitters.
  3. Add 25ml of whisky.
  4. A shot of vanilla syrup.
  5. Give it a stir with the stirrer stick.
  6. Then with that stirrer stick, twist the orange peel and stab the end of the stick through. You want the orange to be at the rim of the glass above the liquid and the stick holding it up.
  7. Carefully place the pre soaked sugar cube on top of the twisted orange peel, it will balance on top if you have placed the stirrer stick correctly.
  8. Make sure the cube does not fall into the cocktail.
  9. Light a match and place it over the sugar cube, it will start to bubble and you may notice a clean flame (not obvious in well lit rooms) but if it is bubbling it is alight.
  10. Carefully keeping your head away from the flame, take a cinnamon shaker and dust over the flame.
  11. The sugar cube will cause a spark and look like a flame from a bonfire!
  12. Don't get too carried away with your bonfire or the cinnamon taste will over power the drink.
  13. Enjoy!

2. The Smokey Rose

Next up we have a beautiful cocktail that is inspired by a refreshing Sour using our Peach Soda fruit tea blend. It is DELIGHTFULLY Decadent.

The Smokey Rose Cocktail

What you will need:

  • A cocktail shaker
  • 25ml vodka
  • 100 ml of Peach Soda concentrate
  • 25 ml aquafaba
  • A shot of vanilla
  • Half a lime
  • A corked bottle with smoke inside (You can create the smoke using any 'at home' food smoking infuser)
  • Rose petals for garnish
  • A jug

What to do:

  1. Add ice to your cocktail shaker.
  2. Add 100ml concentrate of Peach Soda.
  3. Pour in vanilla shot.
  4. Then 25ml vodka.
  5. Squeeze half a lime (leave carcass out).
  6. Add 25ml aquafaba, this is a great vegan alternative to eggs for foamy cocktails.
  7. Pop lid on shaker and shake super super hard! Needs to be ice cold to touch so we recommend 15 seconds shaking.
  8. Open the lid, it will be nice and foamy, and pour the liquid into a jug whilst straining out the ice.
  9. Pour the jug contents into the smokey bottle slowly. Pop the cork on top and give it a swirl allowing the smoke to infuse.
  10. Then take a martini glass, pour the smokey bottle into the glass slowly watching the smoke fall out with the liquid for a photo op!
  11. Get the jug and add the remaining foam and garnish with rose petals.
  12. Enjoy!

 2. Cauldron Dreams Cocktail

The real showstopper of our potions evening! Great for parties, but make sure to be extremely careful with dry ice if you decide to use this, and use at your own risk. Serve your guests out of a frothing and bubbling cauldron full of smoke and deliciousness, and enchant them for the whole night!

Cauldron Dreams Cocktail

What you will need:

What to do:

  1. Gather around the cauldron.
  2. Get everyone to take a bottle each, it does not matter which ingredient they select.
  3. Pour 750ml of hot water into the cauldron.
  4. Get each member to pour the ingredient they have into the cauldron, using their hand to wave around the cauldron as if casting a spell (they don’t have to say anything!).
  5. Get your Moondrop Dreams tea and add in 3 Perfect Tea Spoons.
  6. When all ingredients are added, you can take the ladle and stir the cauldron, and encourage guests to read a spell all together as you stir the pot. Stirring 3 times forward 3 times back. You will be HEXED if it goes wrong!
  7. Once the spell is cast, you need to seal the HEX with a very special ingredient which is dry ice.
  8. Get your gloves on, take the dry ice box and scoop x2 full ice scoops worth into the cauldron.
  9. The cauldron will bubble and smoke dramatically to delight your guests! VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT PUT HANDS IN THE CAULDRON!
  10. When the cauldron has stopped most of its bubbling (e.g not flowing over the edge) you can start foaming up oat milk and vanilla.
  11. To do this take a Handheld Milk Foamer and froth the oat milk and vanilla together until foamy.
  12. Scoop a small amount of cauldron liquid using the ladle into each person's infuser mug, the strainer will catch any bits!
  13. For the oat milk and vanilla make sure it is hot and frothy, as it will be going into very cold liquid.
  14. Enjoy!
