I’d call this caramel apple rather than toffee. It has a sweet apple flavor with caramel. The black tea base in this blend is a little stronger than the usual black blend from B&B which gets points from me alone. I don’t want to call it tangy or astringent, but it isn’t smoother. The second steep had more of that caramel apple flavor rather than the black tea… I’m not sure how that was possible! It’s just perfect. And I have to give B&B credit for their blends being very consistent over the years – this seems almost exact to past batches I’ve had over the years. The perfect briskness with a heaping teaspoon for a mug with sweet hints of caramel and apple. The color of the cup is fittingly a caramel color. Cinnamon will pop up when I steep at a full boil later. One of my favorites from B&B. I’m very glad Bluebird sent me some of those free samples when they first started out....Read more

I tried Bonfire Toffee tea for the first time in the autumn. I wasn't sure I would like it as I didn't used to enjoy Lapsang tea in my younger days, but it sounded delicious and I am so glad I did, because I am now hooked on the smoky, fruity caramel flavour. I drink it strong with just a dash of almond milk . I ordered several sachets for friends as Christmas gifts and a caddy as a new year treat for myself. It is often the first tea I reach for on cold mornings (and believe me I have a lot of teas to choose from!). Definitely recommended!...Read more

Lovely smokey / caramel taste. Strong flavour, so don't need to use much for a good cup.
You only need to use a small amount of this tea to get an amazing flavor, not to mention the smell fills the room!
The smokiness wasn't overwhelming, as can sometimes occur with this type of tea, and it's perfectly balanced with the flavours of apple of cinnamon. It's like autumn in a cup... warm, cozy, inviting. Even though it's black tea, I find it rather calming.
Love this tea - smoky with a gorgeous sweet aftertaste. Perfect for Autumn but I’d happily drink it any time. Delicious!
A lovely smokey tea that I received as part of my subscription box. A nice flavour.
The perfect tea if you want to get your papillas started with smoky teas, but with a hint of autumn inspired sweetness. Gorgeous with baked apples as a treat in an chilly evening.
A really mellow and smokey tea blend for a wintery warming afternoon. Really lovely.
I was a bit nervous about trying this one when it arrived in my subscription box as I historically have detested lapsong, but I was really surprised to find that I loved it. The caramel and apple make it smell delicious and I love to have it straight with no milk first thing in the morning - it's mixed with black tea so the lapsong just gives it a nice hint of smokiness. A great autumn drink. I'd definitely recommend it, even for lapsong haters like me!...Read more
I bought a sample pack of this tea as I wasn’t too sure about it but the flavours had me intrigued.
When opening the bag there sure is a strong smokey smell, I still wasn’t too sure...
But after brewing and serving with soya milk the flavours in the tea are really well balanced. You do get the smokey flavour but the sweet apple comes through as you drink it.
I’m really surprised by this tea, it’s not up there in my favourites but it is an enjoyable tea to drink. ...Read more
Really interesting tea! The smokiness is really reminiscent of a bonfire and the apple's sweetness is the perfect counter.
Mixed feelings every time I try this one. I'm generally not a fan of smokey tea but couldn't resist the name of this one. The smokey flavour is strong but not overly so, and there is a refreshing apple tang. Definitely more apple than toffee though - I could detect no toffee flavour unfortunately, so the name is a bit misleading.
This was an odd tea as when I took the first mouthful, the flavour was quite strong and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. As I kept drinking it, the subtle smokey flavour came through, followed by notes of burnt caramel and toffee. I like this one as a warm winter tea and will definitely buy more (I like it with a bit of milk as if I drink it straight, it's a little strong for me).
This tastes nothing like real bonfire toffee (which is made with black treacle, if you're not familiar with it) but don't let that put you off.
This is actually a very finely balanced, almost subtle, blend of flavours. It's a cup of tea beside a bonfire with a cinnamon-toffee apple in your other hand.
Not as smoky as Smoky Russian. Not as apple & cinnamon-y as Apple Strudel. The extra flavours are there but not overpowering, which makes this a very very drinkable cuppa.
Bonus points for its dry appearance too - the safflowers in the mix make it look like the glowing coals of a fire. Definitely one to keep in a glass jar....Read more
This was one of the first teas I trief from B&B and to this day it's my absolute favourite! This is basically a chilly autumn evening in a mug. Perfect to snuggle up on the sofa on a rainy day. Or anytime, really!
Great tea my second fav. Great, a tea to relax with, lovely all year but extra good when the weather gets cooler.
Not as smokey as a smokey Russian but still good, this has a wonderful aroma! The toffee brings a slight sweetness but its not a sweet tea, very balances flavours. If you haven’t tried it yet it goes great with a Jaffa cake or choccy biscuit!
The title says it all: Bonfire Toffee is now my favorite tea of all time. I love the smoky notes, the sweetness one can smell when opening the pouch, the winter feeling that it has whenever one drinks it... It's saved me on snow days and cloudy spring evenings alike, and although I love it during the cold months, I could have it at any time and still drink it in summer whenever I feel that I need a warm hug from a cozy cup of tea!...Read more
