BB x Square Meals x Emmanuel House

The Square Meals Project

Square Meals was written by Nottingham College creative writing students, under the tutelage of Jez Noond, who has championed the project to bring it to fruition this summer.

The idea was that the creative young people of Nottingham were able to get their short stories published & shared whilst also raising money for a good cause. This is where Emmanuel House come in - with every book sold, a meal would be donated for the homeless & vulnerable service users of the centre.

The stories cover a range of themes and styles but all are carefully crafted, smart & many of them will make you laugh out loud. We really hope there will be a second addition soon guys! (Hint hint!)

BB contributed to the project by selling & promoting the books in our Nottingham Store, under the passionate leadership of Shona our Store Manager (who also happens to be Jez's better half!). After supporting Emmanuel House over the last year, both as our official ChariTEA of the quarter & by hosting some of their events in our space, our instore team were also passionately behind Shona, Jez and the project too.

In total we were able to raise enough for 117 meals for Emmanuel House users! Well done everyone!

BB Bookworm Collection x Square Meals

As we knew we had an imminent tea collection, soon to be launched, that would be themed all around our favourite books, Founder Krisi thought it would be the perfect opportunity to shine the spotlight on the Square Meals Project.

So, we've purchased 10 x the books and are giving them away to our first 10 customers of our new Bookworm Collection. To claim your free book just use code 'BOOKWORM' at checkout.

However, in the meantime the Square Meals first run has sold out completely! Which is great news, but it does mean we can't help sell any more! We're just crossing our fingers that there will be a part 2!
