Smoking hot

Gorgeous tea with a lovely smokey flavour very refreshing a perfect pick me up

A great Lapsang

Since abandoning teabags, I’ve struggled to find a good lapsang. This one is spot on!

I was in love with the chili lapsang that was available in the winter. This tea is gorgeous too though somehow more delicate and light than I was expecting. If there were somehow a version of this tea with a bit more grizzle I would love to try it.

My favorite tea

I’ve tried that flavor for the first time from my friend and after that knew that I must have that in my tea collection and also have in by my side
Really elegant and nice smoky smell and taste

Who doesn't love a Smoky Russian?

I love Lapsang tea and this is the most delicious blend I have found..(.first discovered it in Dexters cafe in Brighton which has sadly closed down now) It is my absolute fave and any other Lapsang pales in comparison!

Thank you and keep up the good work!

Not really my cup of tea

Personal preference is key here, I've had Russian Caravan tea before from a tea bag and it was okay. Loose leaf tea being generally better and more flavourful means this is very smokey. Turns out I'm not a fan of very smokey tea. So I'd say try a sample before you commit, unless you know you love the smoke. My own fault really, I got excited about tea and jumped the gun.

Absolutely gorgeous

This is propbably one of the best Russian caravan I'd ever had

Smoky delicious

I love the depth of flavour in this tea, the smokiness is an acquired taste (I didn't like it the first time I tried it but now I love it!). I like it with a small splash of oat milk.

Fab brew

I treated myself to a few new teas the other week and this is great as a lockdown pick me up. I'd highly recommend to anyone who likes a smoky tea!

A mellow Lapsang Souchong

I love Lapsang Souchong, with its smoky, peaty, pine forest intensity, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. Especially at work, where everyone always accuses me of drinking whisky. I also love Russian Caravan tea, with its malty, mellow, hug-in-a-mug deliciousness, but sometimes it's just a bit too plain nice, like a rich tea biscuit when you want a gingersnap, or victoria sponge when you want carrot cake. Here's Smoky Russian to cater to those in between times, with just enough smoky intensity around a malty hug-in-a-mug....Read more

Just one whiff

I fell in love with Smoky Russian after just one whiff in the Borough Bird & Blend shop. Straight up smoky, not trying to be anything else. I had sniffed and bought many different teas in the shop but Smoky Russian and also Mango Tulsi came out as clear winners for me so I’ve bought the tins. Very handsome they look in my kitchen too.

Packed with smoky flavour!

This is one of my absolute favourites (in a long list)! It has a scent that reminds me of autumnal afternoons and bonfires which has more than once caused my colleagues at work to wonder where the fire is! Fantastic taste too, if you love smoky things, you'll love it as much as I do.

Grandma, is that you?

Unfortunately, this wasn't my cup of tea. The smell and taste is what I imagine compares to putting grandma's ashes in a teabag with the dregs from her ash tray. I received this as a free sample, just because it's not to my taste I can see why people would enjoy it.

Love this tea. The smokiness almost remains me of a peaty scotch. Its my our new favorite.

Perfect Winter Warmer

I love this tea! It smells of a smoking bonfire or a peated whiskey, but the taste itself is lovely and mellow, would recommend for a cold day, or whenever you want comfort in a mug :)

A liquid hug

This is rapidly moving up my top five favourites list. A smoky liquid hug, bonfire in a cup, call it what you will. This tea is always my winter weekend morning staple, for when I want a rich and comforting cuppa.

Does what it says in the tin .... well packet as i only ordered 50g

fabulously smoky, richly Russian & definitely no tinpot caravan

One of the best smoky Russian Caravan teas I've had I n a long while, great for bonfire night or in my case a Winter Scout Camp, sat around the fire with a blanket to keep my back warm, a fire for my front & a good strong cup of tea for the insides … perfect. & when you're back home without the kids add a drop of Isley Malt for a more warming brew...Read more

Not as expected

As someone who is Russian I have mixed feelings about this, the taste is identical but the smell is so overbearing it doesn’t make it enjoyable to drink

My go to favourite

I have always loved this smoky tea but Bird and Blend’s version is incomparable to previous ones I’ve had. Needless to say that I will not be reverting back to my old version and will be firmly sticking with Bird and Blend. Thank you.

whisk me off to the camp

what a powerful blast of a tea. This smells like the best campfires and conjures up campfire stories and being in the great outdoors . Tastes amazing a definite favourite
