lProduct Description

Christmas Cake is back for 2020! This beauTEAful blend has been part of our Christmas Collection since the very beginning and we had some very disappointed Teabirds, so we just had to bring it back!

Holding its own for the title of best Christmas tea of all time, this blend tastes like cake, contains real-life, actual Christmas tree (spruce needles!). Still not impressed? Well, brew it up and watch it glitter like icicles!

dIngredients

Sri Lankan black tea, cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, pine needles, almond pieces, vanilla pieces, natural flavouring.

Warning: Packed in an environment that contains nuts.

Please check out our allergens page for any queries you may have regarding ingredients.

pBrew the perfect cup

1 heaped teaspoon per cup - 100° water - 4 mins - with or without milk

Highly recommended - you'll be addicted

I love all the nut teas: Cherry Bakewell, Nuts About You and Absolutely Nuts. The Christmas Cake tea has a gentle almond flavour to it, but it is more part of the flavour mix and not overwhelming. The orange and Christmas spices are there on your palate and - mysteriously- somehow the actual taste of cake. This has become one of my favourite Bird and Blend teas, and I have a lot of them. :)

Mince Pie 2.0!

This is a nice one! It's similar to the Mince Pie blend, but with a fuller flavour; more spice, more warm-baked-good notes, and more almond (my fav!). A really nice black tea for winter mornings!

The taste of Christmas

Lovely mince pie mixed with Christmas cake. I really liked this tea.

Best Christmas tea in all the land

This is not only my most favourite Christmas tea but my most favourite Blue Bird Tea co tea. It’s spicy and sweet and festive and pretty. It takes the cake!

My favorite tea of all time

This tea is scrumptious. I drink it all winter long!

A bit too almondy, but definitely Christmassy!

I like this tea, but I can't drink more than a cup a day. The almond taste is a bit overpowering for my liking. However, my partner loves this tea and drinks a lot of it. We both have it with milk, despite the pine needles, and this works fine.

Not just for christmas

Unfortunately it is as you cannot get it all year round. What a pity...love this tea and it is lovely with a piece of fruit cake

Unexpected deliciousness!

After reading other reviews I wasn't too sure about this one, however it ended up being one of my favourites out of the Christmas collection making me wish I had ordered a larger size! Would recommend!

So good I emailed to see if there was any left in the back of Bluebird cupboards last march...

There wasn't, but it's back in again, and it really does taste last Christmas Cake (with the marzipan and icing too as far as I remember), so I am now just trying to hold out to the 1st of December before I have my first cup for 2017.

Original but not my fav.

Not my fav Bluebird tea. A creamy smell enhanced by the vanilla (which I love) is lightly transferred into the taste, giving the blend a faint sweetness. There’s also faint hints of pepper, citric spices and pine, but the predominant note is a bitter tang of tea. All the points of originality for the spruce needles. Less points for the actual flavour. Possibly the best tea ever! Tastes delicious, just like christmas cake. Definately a good festive drink.

cake in a mug

This really does smell and taste like Christmas cake! A few too many cloves for my liking (does anybody like cloves?) but the pine needles gave it such a crisp, wintery smell, sort of like when Heston did pine needle sugar for his mince pies. I'm definitely getting some for the family to try at Christmas.

Christmas Cake Tea and Pandalisious Liqourice

I admit to having been more of a coffee drinker in recent years but, I came across Bluebird Tea Co at the Worcester Christmas fayre and bought a packet of Gingerbread Chai. I was so impressed by the smell and flavour that I wanted more, especially after soaking fruit in it to make bara brith. I was gutted, but not surprised, to find it was out of stock. About to close the site and try again another time, I spotted Christmas Cake and thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I spent the first 5mins after opening the packet holding it under my nose just breathing in the scent. It took me back to my childhood and opening my grandmothers cake tin. My expectations then running high I wasn't disappointed by the brewed cup either. I've tried leaving it for various times before drinking and found that the recommended 4 mins is best: the longer I left it to brew the more the flavour of the black tea overpowered the other spices. I also found that if you leave it in the cup to cool a little before drinking, the more the taste of cinnamon, clove, almond and vanilla come through.
Unfortunately black tea is a bit of an irritant to my stomach so, as addictive as the tea is, I'm not able to drink as much of it as I want to. No matter! Bluebird Tea Co has the perfect remedy. Pandalicious Liqourice. A herbal tea that smells great, can be drunk hot or cold, settles the tummy and leaves a subtle but refreshing taste in the mouth. On those days when, for whatever reason, the thought of food or drink turns your stomach and plain water just wont do; this is what you should be reaching for to keep fluid levels in check.
With so many different teas Bluebird Tea Co spoil you for choice. Its now my mission to try them all by the end of the year but which one do I buy first?
