Herbal Tea: What Is It And Why Drink It?
What Is Herbal Tea?
Herbal Tea is a very ancient culture. For centuries our ancestors have drunk herbal tea as a natural remedy for physical and mental ailments. It was the Medicine and the Doctor of yesteryear. Herbal tea is now firmly established in the modern world too, with plenty of natural health practitioners as well-versed as the forefathers of Herbalism, but not everyone is 100% on what Herbal tea includes and what it really is. Never fear! Bird & Blend is here as always to save the day!
Herbal tea is not tea at all. We call it so for convenience. Scientifically it would be called a "Tisane", some might call it an "infusion" too. Essentially, they are blends of flowers, herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables, any plant form really. Sometimes simple and sometimes complex, countries all over the world have their own signature teas and hot beverages, frequently made from plants that primarily grow there. This is also why herbal teas are naturally caffeine free!
