lProduct Description

There is nothing better than a cuppa and cake (except perhaps a cake flavoured cuppa!) and did you know it was our good old queenie Victoria who invented the Vicky Sponge? Guess the name gives it away a bit! She loved taking afternoon tea with her home girls but decided they needed some extra nourishment to last until dinner. Cake it is then! We like your thinking QV!

Vicky's Sponge Cake is our chariTEA of the quarter, October - December 2019. That means that all of the profits of this blend will be donated to our chariTEA of choice, Time To Talk Befriending

Favourite!

My absolute fave - perfect balance of black tea and a hint of sponge cake. Not too sweet. Delicious!

Obsessed!

I got a 20g sample as I wasn't sure and I immediately had to buy a bigger bag as I'm obsessed with this tea. It's strong black tea with the most lovely raspberry flavour, it's sweet and creamy, a splash of milk and it makes the most amazing afternoon treat

Flippin’ Gorgeous!

Almost unbelievably, this is both a wonderful refreshing tea, and a (calorie free) slice of Victoria Sponge in one go! Mmmmm, raspberry jam and vanilla... One of my absolute favourites.

*****

Fruity and delicious

My favourite. Fruity aroma and taste, reminiscent of sponge cake. I enjoy best with a splash of milk, my partner adds a little honey too. Stock up.

Genius!

It's like they've distilled a sponge cake into liquid form, whilst loosing none of the taste or experience!

Surprise Favourite!

If you are unsure about buying this tea stop pondering and just order it. It really does smell and taste like Victoria sponge cake. I'm already regretting only buying the small pouch of this as I only received it a week ago and I'm almost out already. I will definitely be ordering more. I have liked every bird and blend tea I've tried so far however this is one of my favourites so far.

too much coconut...

Coconut prensece is too strong... does not remind me of a Victoria sponge, but overall, it's not bad.

Amazing

Love this! The raspberry is such a nice flavour.

Plenty of raspberry but not really a CAKE tea.

Big old raspberries (my favorite!) with mostly a green base from the raspberry leaves. I used probably a teaspoon and a half. I didn’t want to steep this one for four minutes because I saw a TON of raspberry leaves in it. I think it steeped for three minutes. I’m not sure where the name comes from.. this doesn’t taste like cake. I don’t think raspberry leaves would taste like cake anyway. The black tea isn’t a strong one.. and it would probably need something like vanilla or something to taste like cake. That is probably what the coconut is for, but it isn’t enough. There is a nice raspberry flavor though! It is certainly DELICIOUS, just not what I expect. ...Read more

Wishing for a stronger raspberry

I'll be honest and say that I wish it had a bit stronger raspberry flavor. The black tea balances nicely with the sweeter cake flavors, I was just expecting a stronger berry flavor to the actual tea. It smells amazing before brewing though. Like literal perfection. I just wish it tasted as good as it smells.

Tea perfection

I ordered this one feeling sceptical as I'm not madly keen on Birthday Cake or Christmas Cake but I LOVED it - the raspberry is gently sweetening - it's a lovely tea....

Raspberry Cake Goodness!

The last time I tried this, I’m not sure I knew what a Victoria Sponge was. Luckily, now I’ve watched enough Great British Bake Off to get the reference. ;)

This definitely delivers on the raspberry aspect. I got a whole freeze-dried raspberry in my steeping basket, and was delighted to see that it had reconstituted itself into a fresh raspberry when I removed the lid.

I do get a light cake and cream flavor as well, which makes perfect sense given the theme. I’m not sure I agree with the addition of coconut here. Maybe they were hoping the coconut would boost the cream aspect? But to me, it feels out of place.

But this is still yummy raspberry cream cake goodness. I can’t really taste the base tea, and I don’t even care… XP

Jammy and nostalgic

I bought this because, being on a diet, I though it might fulfil the urge for cake - and it does in a way.

It has a sweet and strawberry (or is it raspberry ? - well some sort of red berry anyway) jam sort of flavour. I call it nostalgic because drinking it reminded me of childhood summers - a kind of pot pourri feeling.

Favourite

This is just as delicious as it sounds. Seriously if you're thinking about trying it DO IT.

Sponge cake

Really does smell like Victoria sponge. Sounds a bit odd but the tea is really beautiful, fully recommend.

Lovely

This is a wonderful late morning pick-me-up brew - it's sweet and refreshing with the raspberry brings notes of summer.

Cake or tea-th

A delicious treat, I love the combination of raspberry and coconut. This is one of my favourites!

Sweet as a....slice of cake?

Holy moley. This tea is heaven in a cup! It genuinely tastes like a slice of the most perfect sponge cake. So happy I found this. I add a dollop of agave to add that extra dimension to the flavour

Having cake and drinking it!

I love this tea! The waft of jam as you open the packet is wonderful. As someone currently on the slimming wagon, cake is something I really need to steer clear of but a cup of this tea gives me that cakey, jammy, aroma. I like to mash the raspberries once steeped, for an extra fruity flavour.

Cake cake cake

What can I say !! This is truely amazing . I took a gamble as I did think it might be yet another berry tea but it’s not !! I have only had this hot but recon in the summer this would be lovely cold with some ice at a bbq . If your on the fence don’t be . Go put it in your basket and enjoy
